Late October is the right moment to stock up. As the weather warms, flies breed faster, cockroaches move further from their hiding places at night and rodents look for food and shelter indoors. Treating early, before numbers build, takes less product and less effort than chasing an infestation in December.

Rats and mice
Bait stations are the safe way to use rodent bait around a home, a shop or a farm: the bait sits inside a lockable box where the rodent feeds and children, pets and livestock cannot reach it. Place stations along walls and in corners where you see droppings or rub marks, and check them every few days at first. Cockroaches and ants
For cockroaches, a fumigator clears an infested room quickly, and gel bait finishes the job in the cracks the spray cannot reach. The Nufog Fumigator 325ml is R105.00. Flies

How much should you buy?
Buy for the first round of treatment plus one top-up, not for the whole summer. Pest control works best as a cycle: treat, wait a week or two, check what is left and treat again where activity continues. For rodents, start with one bait station every few metres along the walls where you see signs, and add more only where the bait keeps disappearing. For cockroaches, one fumigator per badly affected room is a good starting point, followed by gel bait where you still see them at night.
Because the specials run until the end of November, there is no need to over-buy now and store chemicals for months. Reorder at the same price when you need to.
